Hi!
My name is Micki Hardenberg.
My pronouns are they/them.
I'm an actor, a singer, a dancer, a poet, and, of course, a music literacy teacher. I've been teaching online for the past two years and I founded Triple Threat Theory at the start of 2023.
MY Mission
My mission as an actor is "To Tell Good Stories Well," and my mission as a teacher is to help empower my students to do the same. Over the past five years, I've seen how my music literacy skills have helped me in that pursuit.
As a performer, I've been able to learn music quickly and confidently so that I could get straight to the character work needed for an audition or rehearsal.
As a choreographer, I've been able to teach movement to dancers in a way that is clear, consistent and helpful for bringing out the musicality I'm looking for.
As a director, I've been able to communicate with music directors about the changes I'd like to make in order to achieve certain dramatic effects.
At every turn, music literacy has given me a level of confidence and freedom that I wish for every professional in our industry. And because there is a serious lack of opportunity for developing these skills at the professional level, I decided to create Triple Threat Theory and start teaching private lessons.
The theatre industry can be confusing, but reading music doesn't have to be.
